South West claim inaugural Championships Mon, July 8, 2019 - 2:04 PM

The South West Football League extended their representative football domination to country footballs newest format when they claimed the winners title at the Female Country Football Championships held over the weekend.

Competing against sides from the Goldfields, Great Northern, Pilbara and Peel, the South West proved too strong for all to go through the championships undefeated.

Great Northern finished in second position with three wins ands were followed by Peel (3rd), Goldfields (4th) and Pilbara (5th).

Erica Trotter, from Great Northern, was named the Championships Fairest and Best for her outstanding performances across the carnival. Trotter was also named in the Allstars 20 which recognised the best performed players across the two days of competition.

The Championships win to the South West now sees them hold the Women's, Colts and Division 1 Country Championships, but that could all change ahead of the upcoming CBH Group Counts and Landmark Country Championships.
