The venue was altered this year, from Wongan Hills to Moora, when the CMCFL put their hand up to host the carnival. The Moora Shire have a fantastic facility at Moora, and it was certainly well utilised on the weekend.

Being only 4 teams in the carnival, and some leagues concerned with the lack of numbers they had available, we opted to play a 16 per side comp for leagues short and a normal 18 a side of the teams who had the numbers.

The competition this year was the most even that I have seen in a long time, every team had at least 1 win and Mortlock Football League came home the winners after a nail biting 4-point victory over Avon in the Grand Final.

Thomas Moore from the Mortlock Football League was named player of the carnival.

Fantastic to see the boys enjoy the competition and ever greater to see a new league named on the Bert McClements Shield. Thanks to Don and Val McClements who came up on the weekend and presented the shield to the Mortlock team.

The only downside to the weekend was the injuries that were sustained by players over the weekend, hopefully all the recoveries will go well and the lads will be back playing better than ever in no time at all.
