Fantastic Fightback sees CBH Group Colts claim victory Mon, May 23, 2016 - 3:01 PM

The CBH Group Country Colts concluded their 2015/16 program with a come from behind win over the WAAFL Colts at East Fremantle Oval on Friday night.

After a goalless first half the CBH Group Colts went into the main break trailing by 15 points.

A determined group re-emerged after the break and with the aid of a decent breeze turned the half time deficit into a ten-point lead at the final change thanks to goals from Tyson Wood, Joel Gray and Chris Scott.

The final term was a tight battle with both sides looking controlling periods of play though when Katanning’s Jacob Wintle marked on a tight angle and duly converted the CBH Group Colts had done enough to secure a nine-point win, 5.13-43 to 5.4-34.

Busselton’s Perry Francis (pictured) was sensational at centre half back and received the game ball as best on ground. Other solid contributors included Dale McRae, Addison Dew, Gaeten Mwanangela, Jacob Wintle and Stewart Davies.

CBH Group Colts coach Darrell Panizza was over the moon with the result. “For the group to come together an hour before the match and meet each other, many for the first time, it was an outstanding effort”.

“Once the boys began to understand how each other played we really controlled the contest, particularly in the second half, and to come away with the win is terrific.”

The squad will now turn their concentration to their individual leagues and the upcoming Great Southern and Northern Colts carnivals.
